Curved Arrows and Resonance Contributors

The video explains the mechanics of generating resonance contributors using curved arrow notation. This web page allows you imitate what you see in the video. You can use the ACE mechanism calculator window to check yourself. Here's how:

Open a full-size sketcher window by clicking on the window below the words "Click window to edit". Follow along in the video, pausing as necessary, and reproduce what you see. Whenever you use the 2-electron arrow, pay close attention to the blue parentheses. To check yourself, use the ACE Organic mechanism calculator. Just copy and paste a structure (include the curved arrows) into the calculator's MarvinSketch window. Then click on View Products. The calculated product should match the electron configuration of the new resonance contributor that you drew.
