Viewing a Stereocenter as its Fischer Projection

This tool will help visualize the orientation that matches that represented by the Fischer projection (FP). The initial orientation is a typical "planar zig-zag" in which the backbone carbon atoms are in the plane of the screen. The FP reorients the structure such that the group of highest priority is at the top and the carbon backbone is vertical. Traveling from top to bottom along the carbon backbone, the stereocenter in the FP is viewed as though you are looking at the top of a hill.
